Former University of Arkansas professor (and native Arkansan) Bill Clinton stops at the UA campus for a campaign rally en route to becoming the 42nd president of the United States.
The single largest gift ever bestowed on an American business school is given to the Univeristy of Arkansas. The $50 million gift, from the Walton Family Charitable Trust, endows professorships and scholarships, among other things.
After a vote by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees, the UA College of Business Administration is re-dedicated as the Sam M. Walton College of Business Administration.

Former U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers accepts the position of Distinguished Professor of Public Policy. He also delivers several public lectures on campus.
Sen. Bumpers' lecture series is interrupted as he is called to Washington D.C. to defend the President at his impeachment trial.
The University of Arkansas men's basketball team wins the 1994 National Championship by defeating Duke in Charlotte, NC. The Razorbacks battled back to the championship game again in 1995, but lost to UCLA.
1998 - The Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation donates $50 million to the College of Business Administration at the University of Arkansas, the largest single gift ever made to an American business school. The college was later renamed in honor of Sam M. Walton.
1999 - The Sam M. Walton College of Business establishes the Arkansas Business Hall of Fame.
