The 1900s
In 1905, the University of Arkansas begins Senior Walk.
The UA alma mater "Pure as the Dawn on the Brow of Thy Beauty" is composed by Brodie Payne and Henry Tovey to evoke visions of an alluring sunrise illuminating Old Main.
The undefeated UA football team is referred to by coach Hugo Bezdek as a "fighting bunch of razorback hogs," and the name sticks.
The University has free tuition, except for music and art courses, for its 1,200 students in 1909.
Henry S. Hartzog, becomes president of the University in 1902.
