Historical Markers & Buildings

Historical Markers

The historical marker program was implemented to preserve the history of the University of Arkansas and complement the tradition of Senior Walk. It is sponsored and paid for by the Arkansas Alumni Association.

The markers commemorate significant research and intellectual achievements, notable leaders, outstanding alumni, historic events, sites and campus lore and are placed in locations appropriate to the celebrated subject.

Historic Buildings

The campus core contains 11 buildings named to the National Register of Historic Places, a program of the U.S. Department of the Interior. In the lobby of each of these structures is a historical marker telling that building's story.
